Training Course

Fall Protection – Industrial

Industrial Fall Protection

This course gives participants the knowledge to correctly identify the hazards, equipment and preparation required to meet the legislation for working form an elevated work area. The focus is aimed at educating both employees and supervisors who are working at heights, beginning with Fall Arrest Legislation. Participants learn how to identify anchor systems, restraint systems, how to identify the physical hazards and what protective equipment to wear. Qualifications and responsibilities of workers prior to entry are spelled out and the necessary permits reviewed.

Fall Protection For Rig Work

The Fall Protection for Rig Work course offered by Energy Safety Canada is specifically designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely work at heights in the context of rig operations. This comprehensive training program focuses on mitigating the risks associated with working on drilling and service rigs by emphasizing the importance of fall protection measures and proper equipment usage.

Throughout the course, participants learn about the unique hazards and challenges encountered in rig work, including elevated platforms, open derricks, and potential fall hazards. They receive in-depth training on fall protection systems, including the selection, inspection, and correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as harnesses, lanyards, and lifelines. The course covers topics such as hazard identification, risk assessment, fall prevention strategies, and emergency procedures specific to rig operations.

Participants engage in practical exercises, hands-on demonstrations, and simulations to reinforce their understanding of fall protection techniques and procedures. They learn how to properly anchor themselves, maintain stability while working at heights, and respond effectively to fall incidents or emergencies on a rig. By the end of the course, participants are equipped with the necessary skills and confidence to implement effective fall protection measures, minimize the risk of falls, and maintain a safe working environment when conducting rig operations.
